AC Print Increase Flexibility With CCM780 Premier

South Devon AC Printer, has increased production flexibility following its investment in a latest generation CCM780 Premier Guillotine from Terry Cooper Services. Established for more than 30 years, the general commercial printer produces litho print on a five colour Komori SRA2 and digital print on a Canon colour digital press. There are nine employees.

Explains director Andy Cousins: “We had an aging guillotine that needed replacing. We had a demonstration at the TCS showroom. We also visited The Print Show to look at other machines but nothing matched its quality and price.

“The CCM780 Premier stood out for a number of reasons including its ease of set up and price. Because of its programmability we are much more flexible. We can interrupt long run litho jobs with short run digital work. This is important in enabling us to offer a cost effective fast turnaround service.”

The new look CCM780 Premier offers improved ergonomics that deliver more efficient operation. A full colour 10” touch screen aids easy operator use and air side tables as standard ease paper handling. Its deep clamp opening accepts more paper while the automatic knife, with clamp optimization, reduces overall cutting time.

Totally enclosed knife change with monitored single shear bolt protection, turnbuckle adjustment, makes a fast, safe, easy knife change. There is also fully-enclosed rear guarding.

Cousins concludes: “It went in easily and is running really well. Our operators can quickly set up and run jobs. The guillotine used to be a bottleneck when it came to digital work but now we can better manage workflow and be more productive.”
